A man is wanted in connection with a disturbance at a Metro station in Gateshead where a female staff member was verbally abused.
At around 8pm on July 20, offers from Northumbria Police received a report of a public order offence at Heworth Metro Station on West Street.
It was alleged that a male passenger became verbally abusive towards a female staff member after she had taken alcohol from him while on board the train.

When the man was asked to leave the train, he has then reportedly continued to verbally abuse the staff member and left the area at Heworth Metro Station on foot. The incident was later reported to police who launched an investigation.
As part of their ongoing enquiries into the incident, police have today (Tuesday) issued an appeal to the public, asking for their assistance.
They have also issued the image of a man who was believed to have been in the area near to Heworth Metro Station at the time of the incident and could have information which can assist.
The man, or anyone who knows him, is asked to contact police using the ‘Tell Us Something’ page on the Northumbria Police website or by calling 101 quoting crime reference 088471M/22.
