CCTV released after 12-year-old schoolgirl was bitten by dog in Newcastle

Police are investigating an alleged dangerous dog incident in Newcastle.

Between 8pm and 8.10pm on December 12 last year, it was reported that a 12-year-old girl and her mum had attended Sainsbury’s on Chillingham Road, Newcastle.

But when walking past the cash point outside the store, a dog jumped up and bit the schoolgirl on her arm, causing severe pain and bruising.

It was reported to police that the dog owner then left the scene without exchanging any details.

A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: "An investigation is ongoing into the incident, and police have now identified an individual who they would like to speak to in connection with their enquiries.

"They were in the area at the time and could have valuable information that can assist the investigation.

"The person pictured is asked to contact police via the ‘Tell Us Something’ page of our website or by calling 101 quoting reference NP-20211213-0175. Alternatively, you can email 3115@northumbria.pnn.police.uk."
