CCTV images have been released by police after a passenger was attacked on board a train.
British Transport Police officers are investigating the incident between Manchester and Rochdale before Christmas and have issued a public appeal for anyone with information to come forward.
They want to hear from anyone who recognises the man in the images, saying he may have information that could assist the investigation.

BTP said a man began verbally abusing other passengers at around 9.30pm on December 3, then assaulted the victim. He was then 'removed' from the train at Rochdale railway station.
No sex or age for the victim has been revealed.
In a statement, BTP said: "Do you recognise this man? Officers investigating an assault on board a train between Manchester and Rochdale are releasing images in connection with the incident.
"At around 9.30pm on 3 December, a man began verbally abusing other passengers. He then assaulted the victim before being removed from the train at Rochdale.
"Officers believe the man in the images may have information which will assist their investigation.

No further details have been revealed and no further information given about the victim's injuries.
