CCTV footage released after e-bikes worth £40k stolen

CCTV footage has been released by officers investigating the theft of more than £40,000 worth of electric bikes.

People in the Bristol are being urged to look out for 11 e-bikes, which have no documentation, being sold online or in the city, after the break-in at Merrow Business Park in Guildford, Surrey, back in May.

In a fresh statement this week, Surrey Police said: "We have released this CCTV footage as part of our ongoing enquiries.

"We are keen to speak to the persons in the footage as they may be able to assist us with our investigations."

Police believe five suspects broke into the unit sometime overnight between May 10 and May 11 before stealing a nearby Citroen van which they used to transport the e-bikes, worth £41,000, to the Bristol area.

Police Constable Phil Dagnall of Surrey Police, who is investigating the case, has previously said: “All of the e-bikes were stolen without their chargers and will have no documentation to show where they have been bought from. Several of them also have really distinctive features as seen in the images.

“If this sounds familiar and you think you may be able to help with our investigation, please get in contact with us.”

Avon and Somerset Police has previously shared the appeal, saying: "This investigation has links with the Bristol area. If you see any of these stolen e-bikes, or are offered them for sale, please call our colleagues @SurreyPolice."
