CCTV appeal after Nottingham burglary sees two handbags stolen from home

Detectives investigating a burglary at a home have released this CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to. Officers were called to a break-in at a flat in Tennyson Street, Nottingham, after two handbags were stolen.

The victims heard the front door opening and closing at around 2.15am on May 24, 2023 before noticing the bags were missing. Fraudulent activity on a bank card, which was inside one of the bags, was then reported to one of the victims while officers were at the scene and they attended a nearby convenience store.

Detectives have studied CCTV outside the store and close to the victims’ home as part of their investigation and are now ready to release this image.

Investigator Robert Gregory, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “As a force we attend every report of a burglary at a house or flat because we know the impact they have on victims. No one deserves to have their home invaded like this and their belongings ransacked.

“We believe the man in this image could hold vital information as our investigation continues. If you recognise him please get in touch.”

Anyone with any information should call police on 101, quoting incident number 42 of 24 May 2023, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
