The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has cancelled the affiliation of 20 schools across India on Friday, after it was revealed that these schools were involved in malpractices. The malpractices included presenting dummy students, ineligible candidates and not maintaining records properly, said Secretary, CBSE, Himanshu Gupta.
“Pursuant to a surprise inspection conducted in CBSE schools across the country to check whether the schools are running as per provisions and norms contained in affiliation and examination by-laws, it was found that some schools are committing various malpractices,” Mr. Gupta said.
Mr. Gupta said, “After thorough inquiry, it has been decided to disaffiliate and downgrade the schools.”
These include two schools in Rajasthan — Prince UCH Madhyamik Vidyalaya in Sikar and Global Indian International School in Jodhpur, and two schools in Chhattisgarh — Dronacharya Public School and Vicon School in Raipur. In Jammu and Kashmir, Kartar Public School in Kathua has been disaffiliated.
In Maharashtra, two schools — Rahul International School in Thane and Pioneer Public School in Pune, San RNS Academy in Dispur, Assam, and Sardar Patel Public School in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh have been disaffiliated.
Affiliations of three schools in Uttar Pradesh — Loyal Public School in Bulandshahar, Trinity World School in Gautam Buddha Nagar and Crescent Convent School in Ghazipur have been axed. In Kerala, Mother Theresa Memorial Central School and Peevees Public School have been disaffiliated while in Uttarakhand, Ryan Einstein International School has been disaffiliated.
In Delhi, five schools have lost their affiliations, which include Sidhhartha Public School, Bharat Mata Saraswati Pal Mandir, National Public School, Chand Ram Public Sr. Sec. School and Marigold Public School.
Three schools, including The Vivekananda School in Narela, Delhi, Sri Dasmesh Senior Secondary Public School in Batinda, Punjab and Sreeram Academy in Barpeta, Assam have been downgraded.
“Parents and guardians are advised to visit the Saras portal of the CBSE to check the affiliation status of a school,”’ Mr. Gupta added
