CBSE Class 10 2nd Board exam results expected any time soon: Check date, official websites and how to download scorecard

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to announce the CBSE Class 10 Second Board Result 2026 soon. While the board has not officially confirmed the result date, reports suggest that the results may be declared in the coming days on CBSE's official websites.

The second board examination was conducted from May 15 to May 21, 2026, under CBSE's newly introduced two-board-exam system for Class 10 students. The initiative gives students an additional opportunity to improve their scores or clear subjects without waiting for the next academic year.

CBSE Class 10 Second Board Result 2026: Why Was the Second Exam Introduced?

The 2026 academic session marked the first year of CBSE's revised examination format. Under the new system, the first board examination held in February remains mandatory, while the second examination is optional.

Students were allowed to reappear in up to three subjects to improve their marks or clear failed papers. CBSE has also permitted students to retain the best score obtained across the two examination attempts.

The new assessment model aims to reduce the pressure associated with a single high-stakes examination and provide greater academic flexibility.

Over 6.7 Lakh Applications Received

The second examination cycle witnessed a strong response from students across the country. According to CBSE data, nearly 6.7 lakh applications were received.

More than 5.25 lakh students registered under the improvement category, while over 85,000 candidates applied for compartment examinations. Thousands of students appeared under both categories.

The exams began with Mathematics and covered subjects such as English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Social Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology, Home Science, regional languages and vocational subjects.
