CBS News is facing a $20 million (£15 million) defamation lawsuit from a Maryland teenager who alleges the network falsely portrayed him as one of five people arrested over the alleged vandalism of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.

The lawsuit, filed on Wednesday in the US District Court for the District of Columbia, identifies the 15-year-old plaintiff as 'JV'. He claims CBS used footage of his detention in a report about the alleged sabotage, misleading viewers into believing he was involved in the high-profile federal crime.
