Rumors came out this week that Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was “quietly hanging out” with pop singer Taylor Swift, according to Lanae Brody and Christina Dugan Ramirez of The Messenger.
The potential new couple has been the talk of the pop culture world all week. So, since Kelce made his regular season debut on Sunday vs. the Jaguars, the dating rumor was expected to be another big topic of conversation.
When Kelce scored a nine-yard touchdown in the second half, CBS announcer Ian Eagle knew exactly what to say.
“Kelce finds a blank space for the score,” Eagle said, in reference to one of Swift’s popular songs, “Blank Space.”

Eagle definitely sounded like he was readily prepared to make this reference if the opportunity presented itself.
Neither Kelce nor Swift have confirmed or denied the dating rumor. Kelce’s brother Jason, who plays center for the Eagles, was asked about the situation on Thursday, and he carefully responded by saying “I don’t really know what’s going on there.”
