Cleveland Browns cornerback Justin Hardee Sr. exited the preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks. The veteran was flagged by one of the league’s independent neurologists to check for a possible concussion. The referees held up play and allowed Hardee to walk to the medical tent before restarting the game.
Hardee is a Cleveland native and returned to the city after seven seasons in the NFL. The Browns signed the cornerback to help the team on special teams. Hardee made the Pro Bowl in 2022 for his plays on special teams. Hardee is expected to contribute to the Browns’ kickoff team this season. The NFL reinvented kickoffs this offseason to promote more kick returns. The Browns need as many impactful special teams aces as they can get to help mitigate returns this season.
Hardee may have a big impact on the cornerback room. The Browns are bereft at the position after starting cornerbacks Denzel Ward and Greg Newsome II suffered injuries during the preseason. Hopefully, Hardee can return to team activities after the game.
