Former New England Patriots cornerback Jack Jones had a succinct, emoji-filled reaction to being released by the team.
Jones’ tenure with New England ended after just a season-and-a-half on Monday. He recorded 44 tackles and two interceptions in 17 games played with the Patriots. He had a strong rookie season in 2022, totaling 30 tackles on the year.
Jones had trouble finding the field this year, however, as he missed curfew the night before the team took on the Washington Commanders. He only played 10 snaps against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, ending an unceremonious tenure with New England.
Jones is clearly looking forward to a fresh start and made his feelings known on Twitter.

On Tuesday, it was reported that the Las Vegas Raiders claimed Jones off waivers. So another former Patriot is headed to the desert to play for the Raiders organization.
Meanwhile, the proverbial wheels continue to fall off the wagon for New England. Jones’ release is just another indication that the 2022 draft class was full of missteps.
