The Tailteann Cup has already been whittled down to eight teams and one of the tournament favourites will fall this weekend when Cavan take on Down in the quarter-final.
The Ulster sides have already met in 2023 with the Breffnimen winning the round five tie by seven points in Kingspan Breffni.
The Mournemen also lost out too Mickey Graham's side in the first round of last season’s Tailteann Cup, a result which marked the end of James McCartan’s tenure.
With Conor Laverty at the helm, Down have enjoyed some decent results this season and defeated Donegal in the Ulster Championship.
They overturned a four-point deficit to defeat Longford by eight points in last Saturday’s preliminary quarter-final while Cavan earned home advantage in the quarter-final after topping Group One.
