Margaret Ferrier has been condemned by the Catholic Church after she went to a mass in Glasgow while infected with Covid-19.
Glasgow Live previously reported that the former SNP politician pled guilty on Thursday to wilfully exposing people 'to the risk of infection, illness and death' by visiting various places in Glasgow and London in September 2020 - despite being told to isolate. One of those places was St Mungo's Church in Glasgow's Townhead.
The former Rutherglen and Hamilton West representative sat through an entire mass at the Parson Street church - and even gave a reading. Around 45 people were in attendance at the time.
The Catholic Church has now condemned her actions after her guilty plea.

A spokesman told the Scottish Daily Express: "The church went to significant lengths to abide by all government covid guidance, and it was disappointing to learn that anyone would knowingly disregard that guidance."
Ferrier visited various places between September 26 and 28, 2020 despite suffering from symptoms of the coronavirus. After the church, she attended Vic's Bar in Prestwick, South Ayrshire where she stayed for two-and-a-half hours.
Glasgow Sheriff Court heard that Ferrier took a 10-to-15-minute taxi journey from her home in Cambuslang, South Lanarkshire, to Central Station the next day while wearing a face mask. The politician entered a Marks and Spencer at the station before boarding a train with 183 people on board to London Euston.
Ferrier checked into the Park Plaza Hotel, Westminster Bridge, before attending the Houses of Parliament at 7.15pm where she spoke in the chamber. She sat at a table usually allocated for SNP members with DUP MP Jim Shannon where they conversed for 20 minutes before her positive test was confirmed at 8.30pm.
After informing the SNP's chief whip Patrick Grady, Ferrier returned to her hotel where she spent the night before heading back to London Euston. The hearing was told at its busiest time, the train held 153 passengers.
Ferrier was stripped of the SNP whip after her actions became apparent. She now sits as an independent MP and has so far resisted calls to quit.
Scottish Conservative Central Scotland MSP Graham Simpson, said: “Margaret Ferrier’s actions at the height of the pandemic were reckless and indefensible. It is astonishing that it has taken until the moment she stood up in court to admit her guilt at putting others at risk from a deadly virus."
