Cate Blanchett is set to take on the role of the infamous outlaw Lilith in the upcoming film Borderlands. In this movie adaptation of Gearbox Software’s popular video game series, Blanchett's character embarks on a mission to save the universe by searching for the missing daughter of Atlas, played by Edgar Ramírez.
Blanchett's Lilith is joined by a diverse group of outcasts, including Kevin Hart as former soldier Roland, Ariana Greenblatt as pre-teen demolitionist Tiny Tina, Florian Munteanu as Tina’s bodyguard Krieg, Jamie Lee Curtis as scientist Tannis, and Jack Black as the robot Claptrap. Together, they form a team that must battle alien monsters and bandits as they navigate the treacherous planet Pandora.
The film, directed by Eli Roth and distributed by Lionsgate, began filming in Hungary in April 2021 and wrapped up in June of the same year.
