Cate Blanchett is set to star in the upcoming movie Borderlands, based on the popular video game series by Gearbox Software. Directed by Eli Roth, the film follows Blanchett's character, Lilith, an outlaw who embarks on a space-faring heist with a diverse group of companions.
Joining Blanchett are Kevin Hart as former soldier Roland, Ariana Greenblatt as pre-teen demolitionist Tiny Tina, Florian Munteanu as Tina's bodyguard Krieg, Jamie Lee Curtis as scientist Tannis, and Jack Black as the robot Claptrap. The trailer showcases the team preparing for a significant heist while navigating through various landscapes and facing off against villains.
The storyline revolves around Lilith's return to her planet Pandora to search for the missing daughter of Atlas, played by Edgar Ramírez. Filming for Borderlands began in April 2021 in Hungary and concluded in June.
