A cat had to be rescued after getting stuck 30ft off the ground in a terrifying ordeal in Troon.
The frightened feline got into difficulty at Glennon Brothers, on the town's Harbour Road, last week after somehow becoming stuck on an overhead crane.
It’s thought the tortoiseshell cat, who wasn’t microchipped, got carried away chasing birds and landed herself in a sticky situation.
Fortunately, Glennon Brothers workers heard a loud meow coming from above and called on the Scottish SPCA for assistance.
Animal-loving employees Robert and David worked together with Sheena MacTaggart, Scottish SPCA animal rescue officer, to free the feline, bringing her back to safety and on to solid ground.
Sheena said: “We were alerted to the incident when workers reported hearing a loud meow in the warehouse.
“We suspect she got a bit carried away chasing birds and somehow managed to get stuck on the crane.
“Luckily, the warehouse workers had access to a cherry picker so Robert and David were able to capture the cat using my thick gauntlet gloves and cat carrier to get her down safely.
“The cat was fit and healthy but unfortunately she wasn’t microchipped so we were unable to let her owners know about her death-defying balancing act!
“After a quick pet and a bite to eat, she ran off unfazed by her ordeal.
“We’re grateful to the staff at Glennon Brothers for calling us and helping get this little cat to safety.”
Meanwhile, if anyone finds an injured animal or an animal in distress, the Scottish SPCA animal helpline can be contacted on 03000 999 999.
