Cat Burns responds to criticism about her Brits performance

Cat Burns has responded to critical comments about her performance at the Brit awards on Saturday night.

The singer gave a performance of her hit song Go at the awards ceremony on Saturday night, where she was nominated for Rising Star, Best Pop/R&B Act, and Song of the Year. Harry Styles scooped both Pop/R&B and Song of the Year, while the Rising Star was awarded to Flo.

The official Brits TikTok account posted a short clip from Burns' performance at the ceremony, which attracted some critical comments when she avoided the high note at the end of the song. However, Burns has now replied to the video addressing the comments.

In her video, responding to comments claiming they could have sung the song better, Burns said: "To everybody ramping and being so mean in that comments section, um, I actually can sing, and I sounded really amazing the whole performance, except at that point, ok?

"Because, I was walking down stairs so we could do tasks, you know, and also the confetti came up, I was excited, I was excited, ok? So I didn't hit the high note the way I normally would.

"I didn't hit the high note the way I wanted to, so bog off! Bog. Off."

Her fans were quick to defend her in the comments, with one person saying: "we love you" and another posting: "It was amazing!!!!". Others who had attended the Brits confirmed that her performance was phenomenal, commenting: "I was there and you were incredible!!" and "I was there and you sounded absolutely incredible" followed by applause emojis.
