Casualty beats Emmerdale and EastEnders for TV BAFTA as Coronation Street snubbed

Casualty Emmerdale Richard Osman BAFTA TV Awards the BAFTA TV Awards

Casualty secured the BAFTA TV Awards 2023 soap trophy against Emmerdale and EastEnders on Sunday night, as they were declared the best Soap & Continuing Drama for 2023.

Last year's winner Coronation Street was snubbed from the final nominations list, with only three shows qualifying this time around instead of the usual four.

Emmerdale took on rival soap EastEnders for the trophy, but faced tough competition from BBC medical drama Casualty who won the award in 2021.
