New floodlights have been completed at a Castle Douglas sports facility.
Stewartry Community Sports Club will now be able to run midweek winter leagues for all ages and host more tournaments.
The club is also planning to introduce the Miss Hits tennis programme to encourage more girls to take up the sport and also offer more junior tennis opportunities.
The club’s Colin Kennedy said: “They’re quite impressive, we’re very happy with them.
“It’s perfect timing for us as the league season starts in April.
“We were the only team in the league that didn’t have lights so games in April and September had to be rescheduled away.
“Now we can play at night - the curfew is 9.30pm.”
The club also received funding from The Holyrood Trust for the lights, which will increase court time available to schoolkids.
That includes the introduction of the Miss Hits tennis programme to encourage more girls to take up the sport.
A club representative added: “SCSC is absolutely delighted to have completed the erection of floodlights on their two all-weather tennis courts. The £37,500 project was only possible thanks to funding from sportscotland - who also funded the 2015 clubhouse extension to allow the club to now provide four racket sports and two separate gym facilities.
“The erection of these new floodlights will allow the club to offer more school use for tennis in autumn/winter terms, winter league tennis to be introduced, and coaching of all ages to be extended over 12 months of the year.
“The club is indebted to sportscotland for their financial assistance.”
Another Dumfries and Galloway group also received funding from sportscotland.
Happy Hooves CIC near Sanquhar received £100,000 towards an indoor riding arena.
Chief executive of sportscotland, Forbes Dunlop, said: “The aim of the sports facilities fund is to support sustainable and inclusive projects with their ambitions of using sport and physical activity to enhance the lives of their local communities.
“Despite a challenging financial climate, Stewartry CSC and Happy Hooves Riding Centre have demonstrated real commitment to ensuring that more people in Dumfries and Galloway will have an opportunity to become physically active and connected to their local community.”
