Casting call for Scousers to star in Paramount+ series Sexy Beast

A casting company is on the look out for Scousers to star in a major new drama series.

Camera crews were spotted in several locations across Liverpool last year for filming of Sexy Beast. The production team is now on the look out for extras to star in the new series as they get set to return to the city in the coming weeks.

Impact Agency said it is on the look out for lots of background artists for filming in Liverpool. The job could provide a great opportunity for anyone who wants to make it as an actor but needs more experience.

The eight-part series will be released on Paramount+ later this year as a prequel to the 2000 gangster classic film Sexy Beast. The drama follows the lives of small-time thieves who get mixed up in the London criminal world and the cast includes James McArdle (Mare of Easttown) and Emun Elliott (The Rig).

Sarah Greene (Normal People), Stephen Moyer (True Blood) and Tamsin Greig (Friday Night Dinner) will also star in the new series. Liverpool doubles as East London in the 1990s in Sexy Beast, which has been written by showrunner Michael Caleo, one of the lead writers on the iconic HBO series The Sopranos.

During earlier filming, Anfield's Jumbo Cafe became "Copper Grill", while Bingley Road's street sign was changed to Strawberry Lane Crews also visited Fulwood Park in Aigburth in December as a leafy lined area of the park became Kensington Palace Road.
