Casio recently launched a new premium addition to its MR-G Series line-up, the flagship of the G-Shock brand of watches.
Holding true to the iconic design of the first G-Shock, DW-5000C, released in 1983, the latest G-Shock MRG-B5000 Kiwami offers two models. The MRG-B5000 is the first MR-G watch based on the original G-Shock DW-5000C.
The new models comprise the black MRG-B5000B-1DR with scratch-resistant diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating and the silver MRG-B5000D-1DR with protective titanium carbide coating.
Meticulously crafted with premium and durable metal, completed with a sleek finish, the new MRG-B5000 features a shaped bezel comprising 25 parts individually polished to a high degree. Each part is applied with Advanced Sallaz polishing prior to assembly, resulting in a distortion-free finish.
The watches also feature Casio's new innovative shock-resistant Multi-Guard structure. Incorporating superior shock-absorbent parts in the multi-component bezel ensures excellent shock resistance while allowing perfectly polished finishes to be applied to each individual component. These include suspension parts at the four corners that combine a T-shaped bar, leaf springs and silicone cushioning between bezel parts to absorb shock and accentuate the watch's strength.
The case and bezel are made of super-hard Ti64 titanium alloy. The band is made of DAT55G titanium alloy, approximately three times harder than pure titanium, thus providing excellent workability. The top of the bezel is crafted using the cobalt alloy Cobarion which is about four times harder than pure titanium and has the same quality and brilliance as platinum, making it scratch-resistant and ensuring a beautiful and long-lasting mirror finish.
Regarding its functionality, the new MRG-B5000 features radio-controlled calibration and Smartphone Link connectivity. The watch connects with its Casio Watches smartphone app for automatic time setting. It is also equipped with a solar charging system and high-brightness LED light, giving more clarity and convenience under all conditions.
Like other MR-G models, the new MRG-B5000 is exclusively crafted on the high-end Premium Production Line at Yamagata Casio, the "mother factory" of Casio watch production in Japan.
