Warning over record-high levels of tropical virus landing in the UK

Dengue fever cases in travellers returning to the UK have reached an all-time high, prompting health officials to issue a warning.

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) reported 904 cases in individuals returning to England, Wales, and Northern Ireland in 2024, a significant jump from the 631 cases recorded in 2023.
