Casemiro has revealed that Erik ten Hag convinced him to join Manchester United as the Brazilian made the £70million switch from Real Madrid.
United confirmed the arrival of the experienced midfielder just before kick-off as the Red Devils beat Liverpool 2-1 in the Monday Night Football. Casemiro was unveiled on the pitch at Old Trafford and received a warm reception from the home faithful as Ten Hag completed his fourth signing of the summer window after Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia and Christian Eriksen all joined the club.
He is the second-most expensive player over the age of 30, with Cristiano Ronaldo at the top of the list after making the £80m move to Juventus in 2018. But it took a conversation with Ten Hag to convince Casemiro that he should make the move to United, who were bottom of the Premier League before United's win over Liverpool.
