It's rather fitting that Manchester United have a midfield dynamo rocking the No.18 shirt once again. Paul Scholes made the number iconic during his first-spell at the club, wearing it between 1996 and 2011, while it was also the first number Bruno Fernandes wore when he joined from Sporting Lisbon.
The Portuguese swapped to his preferred No.8 during the past summer, and that left the famous midfield number vacant once again ahead of Casemiro's arrival.
The Brazil international is already writing his own legacy at Old Trafford but the shirt number he wears obviously brings comparisons with Scholes.

Speaking during a recent Q&A, Casemiro was asked why he chose the No.18 shirt at United, but rather than allude to legends of the past, he gave a much more straightforward reason.
“I believe there were one or two different numbers available, and the number that I liked the most was the 18. So that was one of the reasons for me to choose that one," he said.
Casemiro is a huge fan of Scholes though. When asked to name his idols growing up, the 30-year-old explained that he had always admired the United legend's style.
He added: "I think when you’re a kid, you have a lot of idols, don’t you? You have players that you’d never have imagined going on to meet one day. But now it’s my turn, in the sense that lots of youngsters are inspired by United players. But honestly, I used to love watching Zidane. I loved watching Scholes too, and talking of United, Scholes, Rio Ferdinand, what an incredible player!"
