Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck is projected to be one of the player drafted in the 2025 NFL draft. Beck will have to prove himself to draft scouts during the 2024 college football season, but he is already drawing some lofty comparisons ahead of his senior season.
“Beck was measured by scouts in the spring at 6-3 7/8 and 233 pounds,” said NFL.com draft expert Daniel Jeremiah. “Considering his size, talent and play style, he reminds me of Eli Manning coming out of Ole Miss. Like Manning, Beck excels from the pocket and plays to his size.”
Both Eli Manning and Carson Beck are not dual-threat quarterbacks. Both players have shown the athleticism to make plays as a rusher, but their respective teams aren’t designing many rushing plays for them. Beck and Manning do most of their damage from the pocket.
“Eli was a little underappreciated during his career, but he won his first title with a good rushing attack in an offense that required him to make plays in key moments,” continued Jeremiah. “I see a similar trajectory for Beck at Georgia.”
Carson Beck will certainly take a comparison to Eli Manning. Manning won a pair of Super Bowls during his lengthy 16 season NFL career with the New York Giants.
Beck could become Georgia’s first No. 1 overall pick since Travon Walker went first in the 2022 NFL draft. This fall, Beck returns to an ideal situation at Georgia, where he will be surrounded with weapons, a strong offensive line and an elite coaching staff.
