The Lidl supermarket in Carrington has been cordoned off by Nottinghamshire Police. A number of officers and at least one police car are stationed on the car park of the supermarket in Mansfield Road, pictures from the scene show.
It comes as police respond to what officers have described as an 'ongoing incident'. In an update, a force spokesman confirmed there had not been a stabbing. But further details remain unclear at this stage.
Mansfield Road has been closed from the Goose Fair roundabout to Ebers Road, through the high street in Carrington. Road closures are also in place on Hucknall Road from Pelham Road to Mansfield Road, while New Street has also been blocked.
