Caroline Flack's mum has said that the "sadness never goes away" following her daughter's death.
Christine Flack and the late Love Island host's friend Natalie Pinkham appeared on Good Morning Britain ahead of Flackstock, a festival set to celebrate the late Love Island host.
Natalie, Leigh Francis and Dawn O’Porter came up with the festival idea after grieving for the former Love Island host in lockdown.
"She loved dancing, singing, she loved festivals," she told hosts Kate Garraway and Adil Ray. "There was such negativity around when she died that this was something she would have really liked."
The festival will be held on July 25, with friends hoping that it will be like her final send off after they missed out on a memorial for her.
"It's the best way that I think we can celebrate he," Christine continued. "She thought about people's feelings... this will just be positive... we'll be singing, dancing, we'll probably be crying."
Asked by Kate how she was doing, Christine became emotional as she said: "I just feel really sad and I don't think that feeling is going to go.
"There's a sadness but everybody has to get on with things. the sadness never goes away."
Festivalgoers will be able to enjoy music, comedy and dance while raising money for mental health charities.
Singers taking part include Natalie Imbruglia, Fleur East and Louise Redknapp. While Noel Fielding, Paddy McGuinness, Dermot O’Leary and Joel Dommett will provide the comedy.
Strictly dancers Janette Manrara and Aljaz Skorjanec will also be performing at the festival.
Pal Natalie said: "Because of the pandemic, we didn't get to do a memorial service for her [... so we're] trying to create a positive legacy for her."
