Carolina Panthers vs. Indianapolis Colts game recap: Everything we know

Maybe two in a row was too much to ask for.

Here’s everything we know from the Carolina Panthers’ disappointing Week 9 loss to the Indianapolis Colts:

Keys to the game

Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports
  • Quarterback Bryce Young threw not one, but two pick-sixes to Colts cornerback Kenny Moore II. Moore II’s returns of 49 yards and 66 yards helped give Indianapolis distance amidst a lackluster offensive outing of their own.
  • Young’s awful evening was really the story this contest, especially since it came against one of the NFL’s worst defenses. He completed 24 of his 39 attempts for 173 yards, just one touchdown and three interceptions.
  • The Panthers continued their sloppy ways, committing 10 penalties.

As if two interceptions weren’t enough, Young made sure to clinch the loss by tossing a third.

Down 27-13 with just under five minutes remaining in the game, the Panthers had an ounce of hope left as they approached midfield. But the rookie passer chucked his third pick of the contest, with Colts linebacker Segun Olubi cutting off tight end Hayden Hurst at Indy’s 38-yard line.

The 1-7 Panthers have themselves a short turnaround, as old friend DJ Moore and the 2-7 Chicago Bears this Thursday night.
