Broadcaster Jeremy Clarkson has faced a backlash after saying he hates Meghan Markle more than serial killer Rose West. In his column for The Sun, the former Top Gear star said he despised the Duchess of Sussex "on a cellular level".
His comments have been described as "abhorrent", "vile and disgusting" by some. In his recent column for the newspaper, he wrote: "Meghan, though, is a different story. I hate her. Not like I hate Nicola Sturgeon or Rose West. I hate her on a cellular level.
He also said that he dreams of the day she is "made to parade naked through the streets of every town in Britain", while people "throw lumps of excrement at her". The 62-year-old also claimed that "everyone who’s my age thinks the same way".

Many have hit back at the comments however. Comedian Dom Joly said he was "literally gobsmacked" by the comments written about Meghan Markle. On Twitter, he added: "What an utter piece of trash he is…what is it with these type of men that triggers them so?"
Carol Vorderman also condemned Jeremy Clarkson’s remarks on social media. She tweeted: "NO Jeremy Clarkson. Not on any level, in any circumstance, is it ok to write this stuff about any woman & absolutely NO to "everyone who's my age thinks the same".
"No no no. We absolutely do NOT think the same. Listen to the noise Jeremy. The crowds are chanting "shame on YOU". Former Labour MP Jacqui Smith wrote: "I’m your age Jeremy Clarkson and I couldn’t disagree more with you. Why do you have to be so horrible? I can’t believe it’s good for you and it certainly isn’t good for the rest of us."
Another Twitter user added: "‘I’m sorry but what has Meghan Markle done to deserve to be more hated than Rose West? I’m trying to think what has she done that’s worse than what Rose did? This is just vile and disgusting. Is Jeremy Clarkson upset that Meghan stood up for herself?"
