Carol Vorderman wowed fans on Instagram with a sassy dance to music from popstar Cher while reminiscing about her time as the renowned musician on Stars In Their Eyes. The former Countdown star danced along to The Shoop Shoop Song as it played out on the radio today (March 18).
Posting a clip of her dancing to Instagram, Carol - who lives in Clifton - proved she still knew the words 25 years on from her appearance on the first series of Celebrity Stars In Their Eyes. In 1998, the TV presenter starred on the show as the legendary singer, complete with glittery black dress and wild mane of dark hair.
Carol danced along to the tune as it played on BBC Radio Wales, wowing fans with her "sass" as she mouthed along to the words. The song was originally released in 1990 and, while Carol seems happy to dance along now, she recalled being "so bad" on the show.

She captioned the video clip: "Cher....reliving a bit of my first time ever singing through a microphone on Celeb Stars in their eyes 1998...it's still on you tube. It was the first ever celeb version of any show...I was so bad."
Her Instagram post showing her dance and miming routine received more than 3,300 likes in two hours. It also received plenty of responses, with double Olympic gold medal-winning runner Dame Kelly Holmes saying along with four fire emojis: "Yes Carol."
Pam Lyddon suggested Carol should have a competition against another well known face. She said: "This needs a Carol Vorderman and Dermot O'Leary dance off!!!!!"
Meanwhile, Roger Charles commented: "Wow, Carol Vorderman, very sexy dancing very nice. Glad to see that you had a wonderful time in the BBC Welsh studio.
"Very nice, very sexy. Keep up the beautiful work."
Along with her post, Carol also included a couple of clips of her dancing around the studio in her Instagram stories. In one of the clips, she is dancing along with a man and gives him a peck on the cheek at one point when the Cher classic - which appeared on the soundtrack to the film Mermaids - mentions "it's in his kiss".
The clip is still on YouTube and Carol has previously called the experience "traumatic" - though it seems she can laugh about it now.
While Carol admitted to loving the curly black wig, leather jacket and fishnet tights, she added she "died a thousand times" when re-watching her performance, the Daily Express reported.
She said: "[I came] through the smoke and there is no into on this track, no music so you can walk down to the mic. You have to just start and the audience seemed so loud I couldn't hear anything!"
She continued: "I thought I better just start, so I started and was three bars out; everything went so wrong. I started crying! I was in such a state of trauma."
The star was given the chance to start her act again, before telling producers she was unable to hear anything. When Carol began again, the 1998 audience erupted in cheers for her.
Carol said: "I sang, but it was such a trauma." The presenter laughed before adding: "I died a thousand times. I died when I watched it, it was just so traumatic."
