Carol Vorderman has said she "doesn't give a toss" about what people think of her appearance as she revealed the secret to her youthful looks.
The former Countdown star, 63, revealed that she practices intermittent fasting and carries raw vegetables like sprouts in her handbag to snack on throughout the day.
In an interview with Saga Magazine, she shared: “I wear a good bra and jeans that hold you up. I generally have one meal a day—late afternoon.”
Intermittent fasting is a time-restricted eating pattern where individuals leave a significant gap between their last meal of one day and their first meal of the next.
Studies indicate that this approach may help manage weight and enhance overall health.
However, Vorderman also confessed she hasn't been entirely happy with herself lately, having missed months of gym sessions due to a knee injury while working on her new book What Now? On A Mission To Fix Broken Britain.
Despite this, she confidently stated: “I don't give a toss about what people say about how I look. I'm also old enough to not care about what anyone else thinks about me.”
Her comments come after she revealed that she parted ways with two of her “special friends”.
The former Channel 4 star first opened up about her polyamorous lifestyle on This Morning two years ago, aiming to break the stigma surrounding it.
At the time, she mentioned she was dating five different men, including an astronaut who would reach out to her from the International Space Station.
Earlier this month, the Welsh presenter has announced that she is no longer romantically involved with two of those men but downplayed the splits, stating that “life's moved on”.
She told The Times: “Life’s moved on. It’s free-spirited. There’s no ownership but it works.
“I haven’t had many relationships but I’ve had a couple of bad ones — they’re a gamble. I love being single. I couldn’t think of anything worse than being with a full-time partner.
“Most women, even happily married ones, would say if something happened to their partner they’d feel the same. They to me say, ‘Yay! Good for you!’”
Vorderman previously spoke about her “special friends” on Instagram and said: “There are different kinds of relationships and a less pressurised one is one which suits many of us.
“It’s just that society has said we can’t talk about it. Well, stuff that.”
The host first married Royal Navy officer Christopher Mather in 1985 aged 24 but they split 12 months later.
She went on to marry management consultant Patrick King five year later. The couple welcomed two children, son Cameron and daughter Katie.
They split in 2000 after a decade together.
