Carol Vorderman shares I'm A Celeb South Africa insight week before ITV show begins

It’s a week before I’m A Celebrity’s all-star South African adventure starts on ITV, and contestant and honorary Bristolian Carol Vorderman is set to give an insight into what happened in the run up to the show being recorded.

The TV and radio host said she would be starting a week of reveals on her social media, to give people a taste of what her preparation for going on the show was like.

In an Instagram post, the maths Queen said that even before the show started filming in the jungle, she got her fair share of drama with animals.

This year’s spring special of the jungle reality show is a little different in four ways. Firstly, it’s taking place in South Africa, rather than Australia, secondly the celebrities taking part are all ones who’ve been on it before - a kind of I’m A Celeb Greatest Hits.

Thirdly, but probably most importantly, it’s been filmed already and isn’t being broadcast live with the celebs taking part in the jungle ordeal while the programme is being screened. Instead, the show was actually filmed as long ago as September last year, and that’ll be the fourth big difference - the usual public vote to assign trials and winners won’t be possible.

But Bristol-based Vorders has given some hints of what lies in store, and she has promised to immerse her followers on social media in everything that went on in her South African experience, including the week before the show began, when every contestant had to isolate beforehand.

“I’m a Celebrity South Africa starts a week today. Well, it was recorded, as you know, late last year and all of the camp-mates - I’m one of them - had to isolate for a week before we went into camp,” she said.

“So, over the next week, as we lead up to the first programme going out on ITV, you are going to live that isolation with me. The monkey attacks, the hippos, the exercising, the bikini trials, everything,” she added.

“I’m taking you along with me to see how I spent my week before going into camp last September. I’m going to show you my journey to South Africa and how I spent my week in Isolation. This week included a monkey attack, hippo mating calls, lots of exercise and beautiful sunsets. I can’t wait to share it all with you and bring you along with me for this week before I went into camp,” she added.
