Her post read: "Simple message going out to all my friends/family for Christmas. Please don't buy me presents, just give me your time."
She offered up some examples of what they could do together as she added: "You can help me tidy my rubbish, or come for a walk or sort a paddleboard day for us... anything. Your time and laughter is all I really want." Carol adorned the post with Christmassy emojis and love hearts.
In her latest column for The Express, Carol said: " The Christmas presents we love most can cost so little." She said that growing up, there "was no money for presents".
Speaking of her Christmas list as a child, she said: " Every night my list would change and every night we would talk and imagine the games we’d play with the toys, knowing that we’d never get any because mum had no money. We loved those evenings."
