Carol Vorderman looks '10 years younger' as she flaunts her toned abs during yoga session

Carol Vorderman has flaunted her toned abs and age defying figure, leading fans to say she looks “10 years younger.”

The 61-year-old Countdown star showed off her stunning physique while sporting skintight workout gear as she enjoyed an early morning yoga session on Thursday. The math whizz posted a series of snaps on Instagram showing her with a beaming smile while wearing a bright-red crop top and matching leggings.

Carol told fans she was taking part in some “early morning yoga-ing.” She wrote: “Well I've never been into it but I do like the stretching.”

She said she has also been learning how to do the splits following advice from an “eastern European gentleman online” who says it takes four weeks, as she added: “Who am I to argue?” Carol continued: “So have been doing my yoga-stretchy things for a month now... and the breathing stuff... gives you a good wake up call.

“I'm still c**p at it but I feel no shame... so that's OK.”

Carol credited the activity with helping with her core, abs and back, though she has been lucky not to suffer from back problems herself. She said: “Sending huge sympathy to anyone who struggles with back problems.”

“Keep on moving.”

Fans were quick to share their awe at the TV star’s “stunning” figure, as one said: “Looking amazing as always Carol.”

Another added: “WOW absolutely stunningly beautiful.”

“You should be proud of yourself... looking amazing,” a third said.

It comes after Carol credited an unusual item for helping maintain her youthful good looks, saying she feels “on top of the world.” On Wednesday, she revealed she has been taking a supplement for the past year which includes the ingredient spermidine - a chemical found in semen and foods such as mango, chickpeas and cauliflower.

It is said spermidine has been shown to support cognition and heart health, promote hormonal balance and improve hair growth and fullness. Carol said: “I think this is particularly important for those of us at an age where cellular renewal needs a little help.”
