Carlo Ancelotti has vowed Real Madrid will “attack more than defend” at the Bernabeu tonight, as he bids to avoid being on the wrong end of another Liverpool miracle.
Real are 5-2 up going into the second leg of the Champions League last-16 tie after a commanding display at Anfield three weeks ago.
Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool have only a “one per cent chance” of a miraculous recovery, but Ancelotti does not need reminding of the perils of thinking the job is already done.
The Italian was AC Milan coach in Istanbul in 2005 when Liverpool conjured one of the great European comebacks to win the Champions League.
Ancelotti said: “From a psychological level the match is more complex for us than Liverpool.
"Liverpool come here to give it their all and do their best from minute one, whatever happens. We saw that from the first leg. We will try to do all we can from the beginning, but we have more questions than the opponent.
“The message is quite simple: not to assume and play the best way we can."
