Carl Froch has admitted that he could be tempted out of retirement for a comeback fight with Jake Paul. ‘The Cobra’, who has been retired for over a decade now, says he is open to a comeback fight against Jake Paul, if he is to beat Mike Tyson first.
Carl Froch Open To Boxing Comeback With A Jake Paul Fight
Carl Froch, one of the best British fighters of the 21st century, isn’t one to shy away or keep his comments to himself. ‘The Cobra’ is a highly controversial figure, and has continued to be in the spotlight due to his outlandish opinions and honest comments on a variety of topics in the boxing world.
Whether it be on his own YouTube channel, Froch On Fighting, or in other interviews, Carl Froch is a man not afraid to speak his mind. That is once again the case this week, ahead of the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight from the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The fight headlines on Netflix, the first time the worldwide streaming platform will air combat sports live, with Katie Taylor also featuring on the Paul vs Tyson undercard. The event is simply enormous, with many boxing figures weighing in with their opinions on the fight.
One of those men is Carl Froch. Ahead of Paul vs Tyson, the former three-time world super-middleweight champion has criticised the fight massively, calling it a ‘joke’ and a ‘disgrace’ to boxing.
Not only that, but Froch and his special guest Joe Egan both want Mike Tyson to knock Jake Paul out in their eight-round heavyweight bout this weekend. However, if Jake Paul wins the fight, Froch has admitted he would be open for the fight next year, over 10 years after retiring from the sport of boxing.
Could We See Froch vs Paul In 2025?
If Jake Paul is successful in his fight with Mike Tyson this weekend, Carl Froch has said he is open to coming out of retirement to defeat Paul. The former three-time world champion believes he would knock ‘The Problem Child’ out early if the pair ever fought.
Froch hasn’t really talked about a comeback ever since he hung up his gloves for good back in 2014 after knocking out George Groves at Wembley Stadium. However, that has changed now as ‘The Cobra’ chases the Jake Paul fight, over a decade on since his last fight.
Froch has kept in the gym and kept himself in good physical condition in retirement. The 47-year-old is in great shape, as you can see in the below video.
