The Arizona Cardinals continue the process of finding a new head coach to replace the recently fired Kliff Kingsbury. There is a new name in the coaching search.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Cardinals have requested permission to interview Brian Flores, defensive assistant and linebackers coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers and former Miami Dolphins head coach.
Flores led the Dolphins from 2019-2021, going 24-25 in three seasons but posting 10 and 9-win seasons in his final two years before he was fired.
He was a longtime New England Patriots assistant under Bill Belichick.
Flores filed a discrimination suit against the NFL last offseason following his dismissal.
He is one of four known targets for the Cardinals along with current defensive coordinator Vance Joseph, former New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton and current San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans.
