Cardinals likely to get less for DeAndre Hopkins than originally wanted

The Arizona Cardinals are expected to deal wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins this offseason. Their asking price has been a second-round pick and something else of value.

However, if they are intent on moving Hopkins, they might need to shift their asking price.

According to SI.com’s Albert Breer,  “that sort of return simply isn’t coming.”

I do think he’ll bring back more than Brandin Cooks did for the Texans—Houston got a 2023 fifth-rounder and ’24 sixth-rounder for him from the Cowboys—but it’ll probably be closer to that than what Arizona is looking for.

He cites his age, his missed games the last two seasons, the fact he doesn’t practice consistently during the week and the money still due on his contract.

If the Cardinals can’t get a second-round pick and more or even just a second-round pick, what can they get?

Is Hopkins really only worth a pair of Day 3 picks?

Perhaps the Cardinals will settle on a Round 3 pick in 2023 and one in 2024.
