Talk about a wonderful Mother’s Day surprise for Lars Nootbaar.
Ahead of Sunday Night Baseball between the St. Louis Cardinals and Boston Red Sox, the good folks at ESPN got to interview the outfielder before he suited up for the game. Given that Sunday was Mother’s Day, ESPN asked Nootbaar about his mom and how important she is to the man he became.
During Nootbaar’s answer — quite the heartfelt one too — ESPN eventually clued the Cardinals outfielder into the fact that he was unknowingly speaking to his mom on the broadcast! In an incredibly wholesome surprise, Nootbaar got to chat with his mom on Sunday Night Baseball, even tearing up at her appearance.
