The Arizona Cardinals play their preseason opener Friday night at State Farm Stadium against the Denver Broncos. With a new coaching staff, one thing to watch is how much each group of players is in the game.
Head coach Jonathan Gannon isn’t going to reveal that information beforehand, though.
“We’re locked and loaded,” he told reporters Wednesday before the final practice of training camp at the stadium, “but you ask me other things, I’ll say we’re still talking about it. We’re ready to go. You’ll see what you want to see.”
Gannon did say that quarterback Colt McCoy would play but did not reveal his plan for splitting time between the four active quarterbacks (McCoy, Clayton Tune, David Blough, Jeff Driskel).
“You guys will see how we do it all,” he said.
He indicated as he did a few days before that playing time plans are individualized.
“We make our decisions as a group, as a staff, tell the players why we’re doing what we’re doing (and) go from there,” he said.
The Cardinals kick off Friday night at 7 p.m. Arizona time.
