The Arizona Cardinals will be adding another offensive lineman to the roster. According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, they are expected to sign former Las Vegas Raiders tackle Jackson Barton. The team made the signing official on Friday.
The NFL transaction report on Thursday showed Barton visited the Cardinals. Per Fowler, he was taking his physical.
Barton was drafted in the seventh round in 2019 by the Indianapolis Colts. Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon and offensive line coach Klayton Adams were both on that staff when Barton was drafted.
Barton is 6-foot-7 and 302 pounds.
He never appeared in a game with Indy in 2019 and was released, after which he signed with the Kansas City Chiefs. In 2019-2020, he never played but spent time with the Colts, Chiefs and New York Giants.
He was signed to the Raiders’ practice squad in 2021 and signed to the active roster that season. He remained there until the end of last season.
He appeared in eight games over the last two seasons for Las Vegas. He has played a total of seven offensive snaps and 26 special teams snaps.
