As expected, Arizona Cardinals starting right tackle Kelvin Beachum is active for today’s game against the Washington Commanders and is expected to start.
Beachum suffered a hamstring injury on the Thursday before last week’s game against the Detroit Lions and was inactive. Practice-squad elevation Jackson Barton started, but suffered a toe injury late in the game and was replaced by practice-squad elevation Charlie Heck, who has been with the team since Sept. 11. Heck was elevated again on Saturday and will be the swing tackle.
One mild surprise inactive is defensive lineman Naquan Jones, who was signed to the active roster this past week after Khyiris Tonga suffered a knee injury against the Lions. Tonga is inactive for Sunday’s game. Active on the defensive line is Angelo Blackson, who was elevated from the practice squad Saturday. He was signed to the practice squad the day before Heck.
In addition to Tonga and Jones, inactive for the Cardinals are tight end Trey McBride (concussion), defensive back Darren Hall, outside linebacker Jesse Luketa, center/guard Jon Gaines II and wide receiver Xaver Weaver.
With McBride not playing, tight end Travis Vokolek is active for the first time this season.
For the Commanders, those inactive are running back Austin Ekeler (concussion), wide receiver Jamison Crowder (calf), defensive end Clelin Ferrell (knee), quarterback Sam Hartman, safety Darrick Forrest, linebacker Dominique Hampton and guard Chris Paul.
Hartman is designated as the emergency third quarterback. The Commanders elevated defensive end Andre Jones Jr. and running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. from the practice squad Saturday and both are active.
