The Arizona Cardinals added a safety to the active roster. The team announced it was awarded safety Jammie Robinson on a waiver claim.
Robinson was waived by the Carolina Panthers on Friday. He was drafted by the Panthers in the fifth round in 2023 out of Florida State.
The 5-foot-11, 195-pound safety had played on only six games for the Panthers this season, logging 11 defensive snaps and 97 on special teams. He had three total tackles.
In 2023 as a rookie, he played in 15 games, logging 269 snaps on special teams and 64 on defense. He had 17 total tackles, six on special teams.
The Cardinals play the Panthers on Sunday. His addition fills one of the two roster vacancies created when punter Blake Gillikin and running back Emari Demercado were placed on injured reserve.
Robinson has two years remaining on his rookie contract after this season, should he still be on the roster when the season ends.
The Cardinals now have five safeties on the roster. Robinson joins Budda Baker, Jalen Thompson, Rabbit Taylor-Demerson and Joey Blount.
