OL Cody Ford to IR
Ford suffered an ankle during the week. The Cardinals acquired him in a trade with the Buffalo Bills in the preseason. Now he will be out at least the next four games.
Max Garcia signed off Giants' practice squad
To give them depth at guard they can trust, the Cardinals signed Garcia off the practice squad of the New York Giants. Garcia, of course, played for the Cardinals for three seasons and was a starter last year. He was a Pro Bowl alternate. He signed with the Giants in the offseason but now returns and will be their backup guard while Ford is on IR.
CB Javelin Guidry released
Guidry was acquired on a waiver claim after final cuts. He was cut Saturday before ever playing a down.
WR Andre Baccellia signed to active roster
Baccellia was not elevated to the practice squad. He was signed, so he doesn’t revert to the practice squad on Monday. With Rondale Moore hurt, Baccellia gives the Cardinals five receivers for the game.
LB Devon Kennard, CB Jace Whittaker elevated to active roster
The Cardinals used two standard elevations to address depth at outside linebacker and cornerback. Kennard probably will end up starting. Whittaker will play special teams and be the team’s fourth active cornerback.
Byron Murphy is questionable to play with an illness but probably will play. Marco Wilson and rookie Christian Matthew are their second and third corners. Whittaker will be fourth.
