Cardiff City news as youngster joins Leeds United move and Huddersfield Town boss fires warning to Bluebirds

Here's your round-up of all the latest Cardiff City news for Friday, September 16.

Cardiff youngster confirms Leeds move

Cardiff City youngster Charlie Crew has confirmed he's signed for Leeds United.

The 16-year-old has already played three times for United's under-18s, but confirmed the move earlier on Friday afternoon via his Instagram.

"Delighted to have signed for Leeds United. Excited for what’s to come," he wrote.

Reports in west Yorkshire suggest the defensive midfielder has signed a two-year deal at Elland Road.

New Terriers boss in warning to Cardiff

Huddersfield Town's caretaker coach Narcis Pelach has warned that Cardiff City will be taking on "20,000" people when the two sides meet at the John Smith's Stadium on Saturday.

The Terriers welcome Steve Morison's side this weekend having dismissed head coach Danny Schofield earlier in the week, with Pelach set to take interim charge alongside Paul Harsley and Paul Clement.

“I understand the player frustration because they’re not getting the results they want," he said in his press conference ahead of the visit of the Bluebirds. "But we have to look at our body language and be careful of the things we do – we have to be different tomorrow.

“I have known these players for a long time now and they are fighters, very good players, and very good people.

“It’s easy to think about the negatives when you’re not winning but we have to look at the positives because there are a lot of those too.

“We are not far away from where we want to be, but we’re not winning so we have to change something and change something fast and that starts tomorrow.”

Turning his attention to the Bluebirds, Pelach added: “Cardiff have been playing really well and maybe not getting all the results, but they got a really good win during the week.

“How I see the game tomorrow is 20,000 people against 11, so it’s hard for the away side because they are coming here tomorrow to play all of us.

“We have to go to the pitch and look after every detail, and that’s down to us – that’s what we can control.”

Harris looking to lay down marker ahead of World Cup

Mark Harris admits he's desperate to build on his goalscoring exploits at Middlesbrough and seal a place in Rob Page's Wales squad for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.

The forward has been named in the squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League clashes with Belgium and Poland next week, and says he has no intention of making way when Page names his squad for the upcoming tournament.

"The fact we are talking about it is surreal," Harris said. "It’s about putting a marker down and trying to get a spot down for that World Cup squad.

"Hopefully I can put a marker down and be in that squad. There’s a few other boys in the Championship and Premier League playing, so it’s competition for places, that seems to bring the best out of you.

"I’d like to think I was valuable. It’s hard to put into words [what it would mean]. I was speaking to my old man and my mother, it would be an unbelievable feeling.

"Scoring a goal on Tuesday, hopefully I can back that up now. It’s about putting a marker down, another goal would be lovely."

Ralls lifts lid on Warnock's cold shoulder

Joe Ralls has revealed his red card against Tottenham angered Neil Warnock so much, the former Cardiff City boss didn't speak to him for a month.

The current Bluebirds skipper appeared alongside Sol Bamba as part of the Cardiff leg of Warnock's 'Are You With Me?' tour, where the Yorkshireman recalled a number of stories from his long and illustrious career in front of a hugely appreciative audience at St David's Hall.

According to the Athletic, Bamba told his former team-mate: “Look at how differently he handled me and you “He’d tear into me every day, knowing I’d be determined to show him. But I can’t remember him telling you off even once.

“Great man-management, when you look back.”

Ralls apparently agreed, but later revealed "the gaffer never spoke a word to me for a month after getting sent off at Spurs, not even a ‘hello’.”
