Here are your Cardiff City headlines for Monday, January 23.
Dutch striker linked
Cardiff are among a number Championship clubs to have been linked with a loan move for Dutch striker Sydney van Hooijdonk.
Swansea City, Stoke City and Millwall are all also credited with interest, while The Sun report that clubs in Netherlands and Germany have been sounded out, too.

The 22-year-old, son of former Nottingham Forest ace Pierre van Hooijdonk, is contracted to Bologna but has scored seven goals in 18 appearances on loan with Dutch club Heerenveen this season.
Before moving to Bologna he netted 23 times in 70 games for NAC Breda, who play in the second tier in Netherlands.
Cardiff are in the market for a No.9 and interim boss Dean Whitehead said the club were close to signing one.
Lamouchi and Ismael on shortlist
Ex-Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi and former West Brom and Barnsley manager Valerien Ismael are two names currently on the shortlist to take the job at Cardiff City.
Cardiff are looking for their third manager this season after the sackings of Steve Morison and, most recently, Mark Hudson.
The Bluebirds sit 21st in the Championship and the next manager will be tasked with getting them out of the relegation zone and stabilising the club.
And it is understood Frenchman Lamouchi is one of the people being considered to take over at Cardiff City Stadium.
Former France international Lamouchi, 51, most recently managed Al-Duhail in Qatar, but will be better known on these shores for his time in the dugout with Nottingham Forest in the 2019/20 season.
Ismael is on the club's shortlist. While we are told Lamouchi and Ismael are on the shortlist of candidates, it is uncertain just yet how many names are on that list. However, it is reasonable to assume the duo aren't the only names on the table as things stand.
Star apologises to fans
Cardiff forward Sheyi Ojo issued a social media apology to City fans following the 1-0 loss to Millwall.
The Bluebirds have not won in 11 games, a stretch going back to the start of November, and the anger and disquiet is now palpable among City fans.
And while there was understandably radio silence from most Cardiff players after the Lions game, Ojo drew praise for his message to supporters.
"Sorry to the loyal fans supporting," Ojo said on Instagram after the defeat by Millwall.
"It’s a difficult patch for the club right now but we gotta keep fighting as we will and in due time the results will start to come in our favour!"
Midfielder out for another six weeks
Ebou Adams' nightmare maiden season for Cardiff City lurches from bad to worse after Whitehead revealed he could still be six weeks away from a return to action.
City fans might have to wait until at least March before they see Adams, whose recovery from knee surgery has delayed his competitive Bluebirds debut by another few months.
"Ebou is probably a month or six weeks away, still. He had a couple of setbacks, but he is progressing nicely," interim boss Whitehead said after the defeat by Millwall at the weekend.
"He has had a wretched season so far with his setbacks with injuries. But he is mentally strong, he is looking forward to getting out on the pitch for the first time for Cardiff.
"He had a little clear-up in his knee. He is now on the mend and hopefully not too far away."
Gabbidon: Bluebirds need a plan and a DoF
Cardiff City legend Danny Gabbidon has called for the Bluebirds to look at Brighton's model for success and to adopt it as their own blueprint as they look to plan a route out of this current crisis.
Cardiff are 21st in the division after going nine games without a win in the Championship, a run stretching back to the start of November.
They are on the lookout for their third manager of the season, their fifth in two years and their 13th in a decade. It's hardly the example of success and sustainability.
At some point, someone has to admit mistakes have been made and change is needed. That is the only way this club will move forward, if the owner admits he needs help, as we wrote here after Mark Hudson's sacking just over a week ago.
And Gabbidon, adored by Bluebirds supporters for what he did during his 172 appearances for the club, agrees.
"The first thing Cardiff should have done when they were having these thoughts about changing the style of play or going with a different manager, was get a director of football," Gabbidon said on the latest episode of BBC's EJFOF.
"That's what they need. You've got an owner who isn't there. So how does he have a real feel for what's going on at the club, what he's trying to do, what the fans are thinking? You have Ken Choo and Mehmet Dalman, they're not really there, either.
"There's nobody really running the football club."
