Cardiff closing in on Kipre
West Brom defender Cedric Kipre is among a list of central defenders on Cardiff City's transfer radar, with Baggies boss Steve Bruce confirming the player is "close" to leaving the club.
The Bluebirds on Wednesday added their 11th signing of the summer with the capture of Sheyi Ojo on a two-year deal following the winger's release from Liverpool. Now, attention will turn to the last remaining areas of the squad which need bolstering.

Steve Morison is keen to get in at least one other striker, a transfer requirement which is more prescient now James Collins has sealed his move to Derby County, and also wants to bring in a centre-back.
And WalesOnline understands Kipre is a player Cardiff have taken a look at in recent months. It is understood the player, who has two years left to run on his contract, is available for a loan move.
Collins opens up on Cardiff exit
James Collins has revealed he was informed last year he would not be a part of Cardiff City's long-term plans under Steve Morison.
Collins signed a two-year deal at Derby County on Wednesday in a deal understood to be a free transfer, having been informed he was surplus to requirements at Cardiff City Stadium, and he says he can't wait to start a new chapter in his career.
"I’m really excited and I’m desperate to get back playing football again and scoring goals," he said.
"I’m really excited to be here. The training ground is great and I’ve played at the stadium loads of times so I know how much of a good atmosphere it is and I’m looking forward to the challenge."
Speaking specifically about his exit from the capital, he added: "I spoke to the manager at Cardiff last year and he explained to me that he wanted to go down a different route which is fine.
"It’s football and it happens and this move happened during the summer. There were talks and interest and I spoke to the manager about the move.
"A lot of players I know have signed for the club so that was a big factor and we’ve built a great squad here so far so I’m excited to come here and be a part of it."
Branthwaite heading to PSV
Everton youngster Jarrad Branthwaite is reportedly close to sealing a season-long loan deal with PSV Eindhoven, despite alleged interest from Cardiff City.
Reports had previously suggested the Bluebirds, along with Sunderland and Sheffield United had expressed an interest in the defender, but it now seems he will be plying his trade in the Eredivisie next term.
According to The Guardian, former Everton director of football Marcel Brands who is now at PSV, has been tracking Branthwaite for some time, and it's believed a move to the Dutch top flight is the next appropriate step in the 20-year-old's development.
City looking for new academy chief
Cardiff City are on the lookout for a new academy manager, with current chief Dave Hughes moving to a new job elsewhere.
Hughes, who joined from Southampton in November 2020, was originally handed the head of academy coaching role before taking over the academy all together last year following James McCarthy’s departure.
But he is set to move on to pastures new and it leaves the Bluebirds looking for someone new to drive on the excellent foundations which have been laid in the academy.
New kit release date confirmed
Cardiff City's new home kit will be available for fans to buy online and in store this coming Saturday from 9am, the club has confirmed.
The new home shirt, made by New Balance, was unveiled shortly before City's opening pre-season game with Cambridge United last Saturday, with Steve Morison's side donning the new strip on the way to a hard-earned 3-2 win.
The club has confirmed that the Cardiff City Stadium superStore will be open from 9am-5pm on launch day and 11am-3pm on Sunday, July 17.
