Cardiff City transfer headlines as target reveals future and Leeds United's Liverpool transfer hijack boosts Drameh hopes

These are your Cardiff City headlines on Sunday, April 24.

Allsop wants to stay at Derby

Derby County goalkeeper Ryan Allsop wants to remain at Pride Park next season, despite the Rams' relegation to League One.

The shot-stopper is understood to be on Cardiff City's radar this summer, with Alex Smithies on his way out of the door at Cardiff City Stadium. Dillon Phillips will wear the gloves until the end of the season, but a new 'keeper will be on Steve Morison's increasingly lengthy shopping list this summer. You can read more about that here.

The Bluebirds are likely to face stiff competition for Allsop, with other parties interested in his services. The 29-year-old started the season as third choice in the east Midlands but forced his way into Wayne Rooney's team after Christmas.

Out of contract at the end of the campaign, he could leave for free but his recent comments hint that he wants to stay with the club. Speaking to the BBC, he said: “I’ve loved my time here and I don’t want that to end,” adding that he "hopes to get something sorted in the summer".

Uncertainty surrounding Derby players is set to be a continued theme this summer, with a takeover still in the offing. Rooney added: "I can say 95% of the players in there I would want to keep, but what I can't do is tell them what the salary will be.

"The players who are out of contract, I know there are other clubs sniffing round them and putting salaries in front of them which unfortunately sometimes that is what it takes."

Leeds' transfer hijacks boosts Drameh hopes

To the future of Leeds United loanee Cody Drameh now, and a possible domino effect that could play out this summer. The Sun report that Leeds are trying to hijack Liverpool's move for talented Aberdeen youngster Calvin Ramsay.

The 18-year-old is hot property, with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp a firm admirer, seeing him as the perfect understudy to Trent Alexander-Arnold who he can develop. Ramsay recently addressed all the speculation he has attracted, He said: “It’s all been good because growing up it’s all you want to do — play first-team football, then hopefully get a big move one day in the future.

“It’s all about learning and you’ve got to keep calm. You can’t let it get to your head. If you do you can end up thinking you’re better than you are and not playing how you can. At one stage it seemed like there was something on Twitter or in the papers almost every day. I tried not to get caught up in it because that’s the worst thing you can do.

“It’s good hearing all that stuff, but I’ve just got to produce on the pitch, then everything else will play itself out. At the start of the season I felt I was doing really well, then I got my injury and came back. I’ve done all right, but not what I was at the start of the season. On deadline day I was up in Dingwall because I had a game the next day against Ross County, so that was what I was focusing on. I’m young and it’s my first full season, so I’m trying to build on that and get more confidence.”

He can leave the Scottish club for £3million at the end of the season and Leeds are now hoping to swoop in for the teenager. Any move for a right-sided full-back will have ramifications for Drameh, with boss Morison making no secret of the fact he'd like to re-sign the 20-year-old this summer, should the opportunity arise.

Drameh has made his feelings clear to Cardiff, though. If he is not guaranteed regular game time at Leeds United then he would be keen to countenance a move back to the Welsh capital.

Tottenham 'line up' Bale and five others

Gareth Bale is being lined up for a third stint at Tottenham. The Wales skipper is out of contract with Real Madrid this summer and is set to leave Spain.

If Wales qualify for the World Cup then Bale will need a club in order to stay fit and Spurs - who are joint favourites along with Cardif for his signature - are now readying a move for the 32-year-old, and five others to convince manager Antonio Conte to remain at the club beyond the summer.

Women win cup

Cardiff Women have won the FAW Women's Cup final after a 2-0 win over Cardiff Met.

A second-half strike from Seren Watkins - her first for the Bluebirds - and a Lily Billingham effort in the 86th minute settled the match at Penybont's SDM Glass Stadium.
