Trialists' identities revealed
Trialists will flood into Wales' capital city club over the course of the next few weeks and months as Cardiff look to rebuild not only their first team, but add quality to their academy, too.
On Tuesday, the Bluebirds took on Crewe Alexandra in their final under-23s game of the season, the perfect opportunity to take a look at a youngster or two, over whom they could run the rule ahead of possible summer acquisitions.
There were three trialists on show for Darren Purse's men. The first, the No. 8, was Jaami Qureshi, the winger from Brighton who WalesOnline revealed came on trial last week.
But WalesOnline has now learned the identities of the two other, as yet unknown, members of Purse's side which took the field at Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday.

The goalkeeper was James Pardington, a 21-year-old currently contracted to Wolves. The shot stopper has enjoyed loan stints with Bath City, Stratford Town, Dulwich Hamlet and Mansfield Town in recent years, but has never made an appearance for Wolves.
He struggled for game time in the Premier League 2, making only three appearances as others were ahead of him. But with both Alex Smithies and George Ratcliffe out of contract this summer, Cardiff are bound to make at least a couple of signings between the sticks.
The other trialist was No. 3, Fionn O'Brien. At just 18, he has been part of the Sky Blues' under-18s setup this season, featuring twice for their under-23s side. The left-footed centre-half started the game against Crewe a little shakily but grew into the match and became more settled as the tie wore on.
Cardiff stance on Romeo
Cardiff City are indeed exploring the possibility of signing Mahlon Romeo this summer, as has been reported elsewhere in recent weeks.
The right-back, 26, has been on loan at Portsmouth from Millwall this season and his parent club look like they want rid of him this summer. The player does, though, have two years left on his current deal.
However, WalesOnline understands that a situation could transpire in which the Lions would allow him to leave and pay up his contract, should it be agreeable to all parties.
It's clear he doesn't fit into Gary Rowett's vision of where he sees Millwall moving forward, with the manager stating recently that he is open to allowing the player to go in the upcoming window. He told the South London Press: “I’ve heard other managers talk about our player, which is understandable. The expectation is that I think we’re open to offers in the summer, which is why Mahlon left us to go to Portsmouth. He wanted to play regular football.
“I’m pretty sure he will want to do the same again next season, ideally for him at a higher level. We’ll see what happens. He is our player until we get an agreement or an opportunity that fits everybody then that’s what it is really.”
Steve Morison will certainly know the right-back well, having spent four years playing with him at Millwall. Cardiff need to bolster in that area, with loan player Cody Drameh heading back to Leeds United and Perry Ng having proven himself to be a good option at centre-back.
Given Jai Semenyo appears not quite ready for Championship football just yet, the right-hand side of defence will be an area in which Cardiff will likely actively recruit this summer.
Romeo has more than 260 senior appearances to his name, 148 of which have been in the Championship, and Cardiff will be keen to add players with that sort of experience to their ranks. At 26, he also fills an age gap that Morison has previously spoken about in terms of player recruitment.
Harding to leave Reading
Wales centurion and Reading captain Natasha Harding will leave the Women's Super League club at the end of the season.
The 33-year-old former Cardiff City Ladies player, who has been an ever-present for Reading this season, departs after five years with the club.
Harding, who became the eighth player to represent Wales 100 times in April, has made 83 league appearances since joining from Liverpool in 2017. She played for Cardiff City Ladies for five years, captaining the side, before switching to Bristol Academy and really establishing herself as a top-level player.
"I'd like to thank Tash for everything she has done in her time with the club," Reading manager Kelly Chambers said.
"She's been an integral part of the team and been a huge part of our growth as a club. Personally I have grown a great relationship with Tash both personally and professionally, and I'd like to wish her the very best for the future."
Harding's final Reading game will be on Sunday when Harding's former club Manchester City visit Berkshire.
The Wales vice-captain said: "My time at Reading has come to an end. I’d like to thank the club, staff, the fans and my teammates for my time there. "As one chapter ends, I’m extremely excited for my next challenge. Mentally and physically I feel my best. It’s been a pleasure."
Bluebirds net £1m from Cherries promotion
Bournemouth's promotion to the Premier League has triggered a clause which will see Cardiff City benefit to the tune of around £1million.
The Bluebirds sold Kieffer Moore to the Cherries back in January for a fee believed to be worth £3.5m. However, as is typically the case in these scenarios, several add-ons were included in the deal which would see Cardiff net more money if certain clauses were triggered.
Well, that happened on Tuesday night. The Wales striker netted the winner in Bournemouth's crunch promotion decider against Nottingham Forest, a 1-0 triumph that saw Moore's team go up.
Moore was signed by Scott Parker in January as the manager believed the striker would give his side an end-of-season boost to get them over the line. However, back in February after just three minutes in a Cherries shirt, the 29-year-old sustained a broken foot and was out for 10 weeks.
He made up for lost time, though, scoring twice off the bench against Swansea City to earn a crucial 3-3 draw last week before crisply slotting home a well-worked free-kick deep into the second half against Forest. He almost single-handedly earned Bournemouth four points in the space of a week.
