Here's your round-up of all the latest Cardiff City headlines for Saturday, March 19.
Cardiff linked with McManus
Cardiff are believed to be interested in a summer move for Scottish striker Declan McManus. According to Football League World, City are among a clutch of clubs keen on the forward, who's been in red hot form for newly-crowned Welsh champions The New Saints, netting an impressive 27 goals in 33 games.
McManus only arrived at the club last summer, in a £60,000 move from Dunfermline Athletic, and his current deal with the club runs until 2023. But his form is reportedly now starting to attract interest from elsewhere.
The latest report claims TNS are braced for offers when the window reopens at the end of the season. It also adds that the Bluebirds are at the front of the queue for his signature.
Martin gives fitness update ahead of derby
Swansea City boss Russell Martin says Flynn Downes and Jamie Paterson will be back in contention for the upcoming South Wales derby. Both players sat out the drab 0-0 draw with Birmingham City on Saturday afternoon, with Paterson pulling out of the starting line-up due to a problem in the warm-up.
However, Martin says both players will be available for the trip to the Cardiff City Stadium after the international break. "Flynn was feeling a bit tight after Wednesday. He felt a muscle and we didn't want to risk it,” he said.
“He was willing to play but it would have been madness to play him and then lose him for four or five weeks and have him miss the rest of the season. Pato felt he could play but he felt a little tightness in the warm-up, so you have to make these decisions and listen to the medical team.
"They're not easy decisions, but I think they have to be the right ones for the big picture and they should be ready for the next game.” After winning the first contest at the Swansea.com Stadium earlier in the season, the Swans are aiming for what would be a historic first ever South Wales derby double.
Morison insists Cardiff will be ready for derby clash
Cardiff boss Morison, meanwhile, says his side will be well placed when Swansea come to the capital on April 2. The Bluebirds signed off before the international break with an impressive 2-1 win over Stoke City last time out, and Morison says his side will be full of confidence heading into the clash with their most bitter of rivals.
"We say the same message all the time - believe in yourselves, enjoy playing football, be calm and don't worry about the noise around you, just do what we are asking you to do and then it's on my head," Morison said. "The players are doing that. That's why we have gone from we were to where we are now.
"We are a group, we are aligned - from the staff all the way to the players - and it's a good place to be at the moment."
"We know what we are going to do - we know what we do as a team," Morison continued.
"We might tweak a couple of things. We know what they (Swansea) do - they do the same thing all the time, the same way we do.
"Atmosphere we don't have to worry about [in the derby]. [We] don't have to worry about intensity, don't have to worry about geeing the lads up.
"It will just be a case of who performs best on the day."
